Description |
Hello! I am learning Korean because I used to live in Korea and would like to at least maintain--but ideally improve--my Korean skills. I like to learn in general and learning more about Korean culture and the Korean language will keep my options open so I may be able to move back to Korea. I really would like to improve my listening comprehension and vocabulary. A one hour private lesson per week would be ideal, as I am working full time while pursuing my Master's of Science on Physics. I enjoy learning from people who are laid back but also not shy to correct me when I'm wrong, I am trying to improve so any and help advice and critique is welcome.

Description |
Hello, my name is Janelle. I am currently studying to be a nurse. I am a Hispanic female who has grown up in a predominately Spanish-speak ing area, yet I have never been able to pick up the language. I want to learn to be a better nurse for my patients. I want to be able to understand my culture in a deeper sense and to carry on Spanish to my children so my heritage may not be forgotten. The man I plan on marrying also has parents who only speak Spanish. I want to be able to connect with them as well. I am committed to learning, and I am a very serious student. I would say I am intermediate, and need help mostly in conversationa l Spanish. I am looking for a teacher who is willing to work with me as much as I am with them. I will follow all advice or instructions, fully open to criticism. I only want to learn.

Description |
Hello My name is Jim Vinson. I am interested in learning Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese because I hope to live in a country that uses one of those languages the future and would love to be able to navigate the country without any help. I learned Mandarin for three years using the Growing Participator Approach language learning program and greatly enjoyed it. I care for my elderly mother and the GPA system allowed me the opportunity to learn without being tied to a book or desk. If you are a GPA instructor please contact me. I stopped learning mandarin because my mother became very ill and I initially wanted to visit China. But in light of recent events I decided not to visit there, but chose to visit Japan instead.

Description |
I am learning Japanese because I wanted to learn a second language and was instructed to do so (at the time) to learn Japanese. I also really like the language and Japan!
I have been studying Japanese through self-study for a little over a year however I did visit Japan to learn the language briefly for one month. My level is A2.
My grammar is okay but does need much improvement. I understand the different verb forms, but when in conversation, I seem to forget them in the moment. For me, the hardest part is in conversation. I can speak it, but listening to someone speak in Japanese is very hard for me. I usually have the speaker repeat sentences a few times and have them speak slowly.
I can dedicate 15 minutes to an hour, depending on a few factors.
I 'm hoping to find a teacher in-person to speak with. That would be the best scenario. Second best would be emailing me work sheets or similar.
