My name is Celeste S. I want to learn Japanese. It has always been a favorite culture of mine. When I do get out of school and get a good job, I would love to go to Japan. I am currently at a begginer level. I have many books so that I could teach myself, but I found out that that is very hard. I need help in just about everything. Reading, writing, grammar, just remembering, etc. I would dedicate as much time as I could in the lessons as long as it doesn't interfere with school or family. I am looking for a native Icelander to teach me Icelandic. My boyfriend is from Iceland and I will be visiting his family with him over Christmas. I purchased a set of CD's to learn some of the basics, but I find the pronunciation very challenging and have trouble distinguishin g some of the sounds spoken on the CD's. I am an absolute beginner and at this point am looking for simple introductory lessons, mainly to enhance my experience over Christmas. My boyfriend lives long-distance and is rather shy about teaching me, so I thought it would be nice to get lessons. I'd like a conversationa l teacher to help me with the alphabet, 'small talk', and basic grammar. I'd be available to meet once or twice a week until Christmas. After that, we'll play it by ear.
