Hello, my name is Andrea, and I am looking for a longterm Tagalog tutor to help me improve my spoken Filipino skills as I plan to travel and do business in the Philippines next year. Both of my parents grew up in Manila, so I understand fluent Tagalog (growing up my Lola and I would watch Mara Clara), but I really struggle with speaking, my accent, and writing. I can speak at a very beginner level, but I can read and understand fluent Tagalog at a very proficient level, not needing any help or translation. I am trying to dedicate 3-5 hours/week in classes on improving, in addition to a few hours each week for practice. I can practice with my family, though I feel I need more help getting started.
In my teacher, I am looking for someone who has experience working with passively bilingual Filipino learners, who can keep me accountable, and provide a structure and process for getting me to very proficient conversationa l level by the end of this year.

Hello, I am seeking to learn Spanish to advance my career as well as converse with others. It is a very common language here in the U.S. and I want to speak it. I am a bit beyond a beginner but not yet advanced. I need help in all areas, speaking, grammar, and conversation. I can dedicate a lot of time to these lessons. I would like to learn the language for career advancement purposes and because I am Ethiopian and would use the language in conversation with family and friends.
Y our proficiency level (e.g., beginner, etc.).
I would consider myself a beginner. I can hear 80% of the language comfortably and only speak about 10% comfortably.
The areas in which you feel you need particular improvement (e.g., grammar, conversation, etc.), if any.
Convers ation is my primary focus and I would gradually learn how to read and write.
How much time you want to dedicate to your language lessons.
I would like to dedicate as much time as necessary to learn the language. I do work full-time but I am flexible.
What qualities you are looking for in your lessons or in your teacher.
I need someone who is consistent, able to correct me when I am wrong and push me to get over my fear of speaking in conversation.
