Dear Sir or Madam,
For the past year I have been learning Norwegian on my own through various books and software. I try and read a little Norwegian every day and watch online new broadcasts as much as possible. I can understand written Norwegian pretty well but speaking is tough and my understanding of the spoken language is pretty poor although improving. At this point I feel I'm in need of some help.
I live in Pennsylvania and trying to find a Norwegian couse near where I live is impossible. I'm planning a trip to Norway at the end of May and one again in August. I will definately be in Oslo, Trondheim and Stavanger although my Itineraries are not finalized. I would like to plan a day of language immersion while I'm there.
Until then, I am definately interested in a video online course. My computer has the capabilities needed for video chatting

I am a very basic beginner. I do know a few words, but have a real hard time trying to pick up what should be my native tongue.
I am looking for an instructor who will provide private lessons to me providing an accelerated program, as I KNOW I will lose patience and motivation in a drawn out conventional course.
I want to pick up conversationa l spanish for both the Latin Americas as well as traveling to Spain.
I do realize that there are many dialects and that I would not be proficient in all - but would appreciate basic conversationa l spanish. I want to dedicate 1-2 hours a week to private sessions time for my own lession time outside of this classroom.

Beginning level. I am applying for a CORC Scholarship for the summer of 2008. I have spent 5 months in Jaipur, and northern India for personal research and spiritual purposes. Hello,
I studied Russian for three semesters at Colby College, ME back in 1980. I had a great professor and I excelled in the course. I still have my books but have done nothing since that time but dream about returning to learning this language of a fasinating culture.
M y inspiration is my twenty-three year old daughter who has traveled all over and is fluent in Arabic and speaks Hindi and a smattering of other languages. She is going into the Peace Corps in June for two years. Armenia is the likely place, a former soviet republic. I am planning to visit her in 2009 or 2010.
When I look through my books it seems like riding a bicycle as much of the pronunciation and some vocabulary comes back to me. In 1980, we were using the Baker method.
I want to dedicate one in-person class per week or more depending on the travel distance. I feel I learn more in a hands on fashion, hence, my wish for an in-person tutor. I would also be interested in being introduced to the Philadelphia area Russian community in order to practice. Perhaps this is after several months of study.
I live just south of Pottstown, PA zip code 19465. I recognize that I may have to travel into the City of Philadelphia for a tutor. I am not averse to this at all and I could combine a trip with other activities I do in West Philly.
By profession, I am a licensed land surveyor. Hobbies include reading and spiritual studies.
