I would like to visit China next year and would like to learn the language along with some history and cultural practices. I'm definitely a beginner. Conversation I'm most concerned about and how to get around in the country with as much knowledge as possible. I would like someone who teaches writing as well.

Description |
Hello,
To start with I have a natural curiosity towards language studies. I have a BA in Foreign Language Studies, English/Germa n. My native language is Russian.
My husband is from Lithuania. I would like to learn Lithuanian language to be able to fully communicate with him and his friends as well as to have a better chance of adjusting if we ever decide to move to Lithuania. My knowledge of Lithuanian is truly rudimentary. I know a couple of words and phrases.
I would like to dedicate 2-4 hours a week to my language lessons. My goal is to learn all aspects of spoken (standard/cla ssic) and written language as well as be able to understand everyday speech (slang, idioms, etc)

Description |
I am learning Hawaiian because I intend to move there at some point, and hopefully use it in my career. I have friends who are native Hawaiians, and I would love to be able to chat with them in their mother tongue sometimes. I also believe that it is important that native and non native Hawaiians alike should learn the language, culture, and history of this beautiful land, and continue to pass that knowledge on to future generations.
I am at the beginner level, pretty much just starting out, so I need help in all areas. I would like to take at least two lessons per week, as well as be given exercises to work on by myself in between. I want a teacher that can help set me on the path to learning Hawaiian fluently, and as quickly as it is reasonably possible to do so. I would also like someone that can teach me about the culture and history of Hawaii as well.

Description |
I want to learn Hindi out of love for the language. A good number of my friends and family consider Hindi their mothertongue, so I have been exposed to it for a very long time.
My proficiency is very low. So many words are familiar to me because I hear them so often, but even basic sentences I would have a very difficult time forming them. I have a basic grasp on the grammar and when someone is talking I can kind of follow along and get an idea what they are talking about. And of course I know basic things... ap ka nam kya hai?? mera nam (my name) hai. ap kaise hai? you know, things like this. I also can read/write Hindi alphabet and want to get stronger at this so would prefer to have books in Hindi rather than transliterate d to English. Also one thing I very much struggle with is the issue of gender in Hindi grammer. English is so devoid of this for the most part and so it is very difficult for me.
I am willing to spend whatever amount of time it takes to learn Hindi, as it is one of my life dreams. My biggest problem is that I'm very shy and get hesitant to try and talk Hindi because a lot of friends pick fun at me when I try, so I really hope to find a teacher who won't poke fun and will be understanding of me having a funny accent and being a beginner.
Thanks very much. (shukriya :) )
