I began learning Portuguese last September taking lessons all the way till March. I am looking to restart my lessons. I will be moving to Sao Paulo in September as I have a job there beginning in October. Hence, I need to continue improving my writing, reading, speaking and listening skills before then.
I believe I am currently at the intermediate to upper intermediate level. I am looking to dedicate a large amount of time to my lessons (15+ hours a week). My main requirement for my teacher is that they be a native Brazilian speaker, preferably from either Sao Paulo or the south of Brazil. As I am going to be working in the language I would like my lessons to focus on business topics. But I am also interested in literature so would be happy learning about Brazilian literature.

I work as a mental health psychologist and could greatly benefit from being conversationa l in Spanish. I took Spanish in high school and was conversationa l after a summer in Mexico. However, I would be considered a beginner at this point until I start developing the habit of speaking again. I will spend as much time as I need to to develop proficiency. However, the cost will definitely be a consideration for me at this point. I would like a teacher who will force me to speak, as this is a big hurdle -- getting over the fear of speaking.

When I started high-school I was very excited about the German Foreign Language program which was offered. My family often takes trips to Germany to visit family friends we happen to have there. My brother speaks German almost as if its his native language, but doesn't have the patience to teach me. I planned on taking German the whole four years of my high-school career, but two years into my German/ school career, I had to start a school that doesn't offer any foreign language. My grammar and writing skills aren't terrible but could use improvement, as well as my reading and conversationa l skills. I would dedicate almost any given amount of time towards learning German. Qualities that I would be looking for in a teacher or lesson would be focusing on really understanding and focusing on conversation skills such as grammar, listening/ comprehension and vocabulary.

I wish to learn some basic Cantonese for a August visit to Hong Kong. My daughter-in-l aws family speak very little English and I would like to be able to discuss basic family matters, our new grandchild, and other simple concepts. I am a complete beginner. I do have a CD lesson plan and book, but I find it is too advanced for me. I would like a chance to practice and learn from a tutor. I have no interest in learning how to read Chinese characters. My interest is in verbal conversation.
I need a teacher who will correct my pronunciation of common Cantonese words and help me to learn how to listen to others. I am willing to spend 1 to 2 hours a day in lessons...5 days per week. One hour with the tutor, one hour or more of practice.
