I am looking for a mandarin teacher for my 17 year old son. He has studied for 6 years in jr. High and high school. We would like him to continue his study but feel he would get more from a tutor who could work one on one and mostly with conversation. We would like him to attend a tutor two times a week. My husband and I are learning Serbo-Croatia n in anticipation of moving to Montenegro next Summer. He is in a full time language training program but there was not room for me in the class. I know the Serbian cyrillic alphabet and how the letters sound but that's about it. I'm a beginner! I would be interested in hearing from you how much time per week you feel would be necessary for me to be somewhat proficient in reading, writing and speaking Serbo-Croatia n by July 2014.

I am learning tagalog for the reason of me being half filipino and knowing little of the language. Also I have a daughter who is raised in the Philippines and is speaking the language fluently. I would like to be able to converse with her without having someone translate what is being said to me. The area of improvement would be the entire language granted I do know quite a bit if not a lot from simply speaking to my father before he passed. depending on how the lesson is taught, I’m willing to dedicate quite a bit of time to learn the language. the qualities I am looking for in my teacher is someone with patience seeing how I do have a small comprehension issue, so it takes more than once to get a grasp of the proper usage of the language .
