My great, great grandmother was a full bloodied Choctaw Indian but she married a full blooded Scotch immigrant. She was an inspiration. Strong, smart and worldly. Granny spoke 7 languages fluently: English, Choctaw, Cherokee, Spanish, Gaelic, Portuguese and French. When I a was a wee little thing, she would tell me stories and some of them were a blend of languages and I remember them fondly.
My goal is to get closer to my roots and would love to some day be able to read some of those stories in the native tongue. A dream would be to be able to visit the many places that she spoke about and to have a real conversation in their native tongue.
I am thrilled to have found this site and truly hope that it helps me fulfill my desires.

I am learning Turkish so that I can work in Turkish television in Istanbul one day. I want to learn basic conversation skills as well as business vocabulary specifically related to media, film, and television.
I am looking for someone who has experience working in TV, film or media in Istanbul.
I learn very slowly but am making progress. I watch a lot of Turkish TV which helps with my pronunciation and comprehension but I am very slow at speaking and forming sentences.
I prefer tutors who use writing and speaking at the same time and a very organized consistent approach because this helps me memorize things and recognize patterns.
I studied online for about 2 years and took 2 years off so I am a bit rusty.
