I'm learning Tamil because I love the language. I'm a beginner. I can write and read Tamil letters. I need help with grammar and pronunciation . I hope to dedicate 1 hour on weekdays and more on weekends. I'm looking for a teacher who is experienced with teaching grammar (such as verb families, etc.) who can also teach colloquial phrases. I need a teacher who understands that I cannot always learn quickly because I am a single mother who works full-time. Tamil letters are a must. I don't like learning with English letters. I have been studying every Saturday for the last 6 months at Miami-Dade College in Miami. I will be in Barranquilla September 1 -8 and I wish to take daily classes while there. I am staying with my wife's family who only speak Spanish. The purpose of my trip is to immerse myself in a Spanish speaking setting and jump-start what I have learned in Miami thus far. I have a degree in English and Journalism (BA). My career has been in public relations, for about 25 years, so I am quite proficient in my own language. But being a resident of Miami, I really want to become fluent in the 'prevalent' language of this city. Fluency in Spanish will also allow me to be better prepared for career advancement in Miami -- and it has long been a dream to speak another language fluently.
