I have no knowledge of French whatsoever. I am a graduate student in a religious studes program that requires reading knowledge of French as a prerequisite to a Ph.D program. I had three years of Latin in high school, 1965-1968. I feel I have forgotten most of it but think it might return somewhat quickly. Consequently, I prefer individual tutoring rather than an organized class because I am not a true 'beginner'.
I need Latin because it is a prerequisite for a future advanced degree program.
I want to emphasize grammar and vocabulary -- since I need only a reading knowledge of Latin.
I have sabbatical time January through May 2007, when my time will be my own.
