I am eager to learn Polish in order to converse with friends and family. I would be beginning from scratch, because I have no previous experience with the language. Conversation would be my main focus along with grammar. I would like to take in- person lessons once a week for an hour- hour and a half in conjunction with additional time spent on practice and take home work. I would be looking for a teacher who would gear the lessons toward conversation with present day slangs and patient since i am a begginer.

I have been studying Mandarin Chinese in my spare time for two years, but have very limited skills. For example, I can only read a few characters in Chinese. I have been using Pimsleur language tapes, but progress has been slow. While I do ok with the first 10 hours of tapes, I can't hold much of a conversation yet.
I'm learning mainly for fun. I speak a little German and a little more Spanish, but am a native American English speaker. Career benefits are minor.
I'm particularly interested in corresponding with someone who wants to learn English in exchange for helping me with Chinese. I'm a biologist and botanist, so would really enjoy contacting a foreign botanist.
I spend about 3-4 hours per week working with the language tapes, and would like to spend a little more time writing.
I might consider some 'pay' instruction, but would prefer group courses to one-on-one instruction.
I use an email address for this posting that is normally reserved for spam. Fortunately, my 'spam attracter' email address gets little or no spam. I just use it for websites I don't have experience with like this one. I will check that address the next few days and weeks to see if you respond.

I'm a 24 year old who would like to learn Turkish. Currently, I have no Turkish background at all. Eventually, I'd like to be able to hold conversations in Turkish and to be able to visit Turkey. I'd like to be able to communicate with my boyfriend's parents.
I am looking for a patient teacher who can be flexible with my schedule since work keeps me fairly busy. I'm aware of the prices of Turkish taught in a classroom, and I'm curious as to what rates a private lesson would be.

I grew up in the US but am a Gujrati. I can understand but my speaking ability is very poor. I'd like to learn the basic grammer, how to read and write, and substantially improve my speaking ability.
I 'd like to spend 1-2 hours/week in one on one classes with a private teacher or in group classes if they exist. I work from 9-6pm during the week in Fort Lee, NJ and live in Manhattan. As I drive to work I could easily meet a teacher in New Jersey after work during the week or in Manhattan at my apartment or another location.
I'd like the teacher to have substantial experience teaching Gujrati grammer and reading/writi ng.
