My husband is Polish, so we have many friends who are also Polish and move into conversations in Polish. I feel offended by this and would rather learn to speak it than feel left out.
I know alot of words and some sentences, but I could not hold a conversation.
I would 'forever' be practicing what I learn with my husband and step son.
I desire not to have perfect grammar, as I understand the language is quite difficult in that respect. Rather I just want to hold a conversation and everybody understand me and I them. I would like my teacher to be persistant, yet patient.

I am a rank beginner and have no experience with Mandarin beyond the ability to understand some of the most common words in the language. I would like to learn Mandarin primarily for personal reasons; foremost among them is that I would like to travel to Taiwan and to China in the future. In addition, China's economic and political influence is clearly on the rise, and I feel that it might be professionall y beneficial to me to have at least some knowledge of the language and culture.
I am willing to dedicate as much time as is required to language lessons, although my professional schedule would make it difficult for me to attend class until after rush hour (19:00) on weeknights. I am willing and eager to practice on my own time whenever possible, and I have access to a speaking 'partner' who has been fluent in Mandarin for many years.

I am a beginner who has spent 6 months in Mozambique and have learned some Portuguese. I would like to continue to learn and become somewhat fluent in Mozambican/ European/Braz ilian Portuguese. Eu esta poco denaira porque euo esta just a poor missionary so I don't have much money to spend para dois hora por semana in person. Maybe some fun stuff in between via email.
