Description I would like to learn Greek for my own learning enjoyment and to be able to converse with people when traveling.
I am currently a beginner with learning Greek.

I would like to try a techinque of learning where the instructor goes over magazines and children's books describing different things based on the pictures and then as I pick up the words, the instructor asks questions that I answer with yes or no. I am excited to try this method.
Here is a video link that describes more of the techinques I am referring to. https://youtu .be/W7Xj3rGu1T 0

Learner Name: MichaelB
Learning Language Danish
City, State or Province Des Moines, IA
Country United States
Wants Lessons

Online or Telephone
Description Hello,

My name is Michael. I'm 46 years old. I've been learning Danish for a few days using Duolingo. I'm reaching out to you because the lessons are not ideal. I'm brand new, and this will be my second language. Duolingo has left me confused about a number of things.
I first came into contact with this interesting language when I was a boy. I had an obsession with Denmark at that time. I made a long distance phone call to someone in Copenhagen named Margaret Jasper. We talked for about an hour and she taught me how to say and write bjørn. The years went by and I had forgotten about dear Margaret and the city I wanted to visit. learning this language would be a wonderful experience for me. I sincerely hope you would be willing to accept me as a student.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for your consideration .

Learner Name: Oku
Learning Language Nepali

Country United States

Description After taking a trip to Nepal and falling in love with the country, I've been trying to find the right resources to study the language properly. My hope is to return soon (in one year) to live there for a while and focus on Buddhist studies. I'd like to use my year wisely so that I have a good enough grasp on Nepali to be able to then shift to the Tibetan Buddhist texts without confusion.

Though I've attempted to learn a few things on my own, I am a complete beginner. I've heard that many people do not try to learn the Devanagari alphabet in the beginning, and while my priority is to become conversationa lly comfortable for living abroad, I am interested in all aspects of the language as per the advice of my teacher.

I currently have a very flexible schedule and can spend 2-5 hours on learning/imme rsion activities per day. Occasionally work may prevent me from putting in as many hours, but I am motivated and believe that more is more when it comes to the early stages of language learning.

Because I'd like to put in more hours than is financially possible for pure 'classroom time', I'd very much appreciate a teacher who can help support my language study outside of teaching sessions. You thought you'd never hear it said, but please, give me homework!
