I am a beginner Mandarin learner, who has spent some time in China. I want to open a school/orphan age in China within the next 5-10 years and language proficiency is necessary. Within the next 6 months to 1 years I would like to see just how far I can push myself in learning Mandarin. I would like to meet for 1-hour sessions 2-3 time a week and then spend a lot of time studying on my own. I am looking for a teacher that is capable of providing both short and long-term goals that can challenge me as a student. I am a teacher and can adapt to multiple teaching strategies, but I also realize that I visual learner and am looking for a teacher who can use that to help me learn the language. I will make time for homework and extra research and will do whatever it takes to become fluent in this language.

I am a beginner. I would like to learn Khmer because I am cambodian but I do not know how to speak fluently in my own language. I want to learn khmer so that I can speak fluently to my parents and relatives instead of english. I will dedicate 2-3 hours of learning in grammar,writi ng, and speaking Khmer at least twice a week. I am an American citizen who was born in Keflavik, Iceland on a military base, which has since then been shut down. I had dual-citizens hip with the United States and Iceland until I turned 18 years of age. I have done a lot of research on Iceland, and I thought that it would be very cool to learn, not only to speak a second language, but for Icelandic to be that language. I have heard that it is one of the hardest languages in the world to learn. However, I do like a challenge and would like to devote a lot of time, as a beginner, to learn the language. In a teacher, I would look for someone who would be able to help me fully learn to speak, read and write the language fluently. I would also like to know more about the culture, so that I could hopefully one day take a trip to the beautiful country again or perhaps even move back to Keflavik or Reykjavik
