I am an intermediate speaker. I have gained a fair ability to converse informally with friends and relatives. I have traveled to Iran 10 times in the past because my in-laws live there. I have learned by keeping a notebook and constantly taking notes in English and then phonetic Farsi, and finally learning the basics of the written language. I want to learn because of several reasons: personal enrichment, facilitating my husband's legacy, ensuring my own children have that legacy, to enrich my cultural awareness, deepening personal relationships , and possibly use it in a career. I need someone to critique my current language skills, explain my faults, assist me with learning more advanced language skills, and developing it into fluency. I am looking to spend at least an hour a day or more. I am looking for someone to start teaching me just above my head so I can stretch my skills. In the past I took from layman teachers who either didn't know it well enough to teach it, or were used to teaching children and not a serious adult. My goals are: 1)to gain proficiency and confidence in conversationa l and written farsi; 2)to become higher educated in the language on the college level. I have looked for this for more than 30 years. It is easy to find beginner material on the first grade level. I am looking for an adult-based curriculum. I have bought many books that just 'jump into it' but I want someone to offer me more customized learning. I prefer someone in the DFW area so I can benefit most from it.

Hello my name is Moises Alcala or 'moe' for short. I currently am trying to learn Japanese but its not going so well. I want to learn japanese because me and my friends are going to japan over the summer and i want to be as fluent as possible. unfortunatley due to the fact i play sports time is shorten for me, but i will dedicate as much time i need to become a fluent speaker!!!! i hope to get a tutor who was born in Japan to help me, but any one will do just fine.

My Spanish level is beginner and I have never taken a Spanish course before. I plan to go to Honduras at the end of February to take part in an archaeologica l dig. I would like to learn both basic conversationa l Spanish to help me get around town and technical language that I can use to communicate with Honduran archaeologist s and workers. I would like a teacher who is familiar with archaeology or social science field work in Latin America. I am very committed to learning quickly and am willing to invest as much time and energy as necessary. I do not have false hope that I will become fluent in such a short time, but I do know that I can master the material needed for my work in Honduras.
